School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering
The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering has maintained high professional standards and a strong research orientation since its foundation by Professor Eric Willoughby in 1946. Many of its graduates hold leading positions in industry and government departments or are full professors in universities. Postgraduate study and research is encouraged in the areas described later, but enquiries and suggestions for other initiatives are welcome as we are alert to the need for evolution.

The School offers a wide range of Degree Programs for Undergraduate and Masters Students. It also backs up its strong research initiatives with Higher Degrees by Research for Postgraduate Students.
School Research Themes
The School has a strong research focus with staff and postgraduate students involved in a variety of projects. Research in the School is focused on two major themes: Sensing and Processing, and Sustainable Energy.
Research areas include: Electromagnetics, Microelectronics, Radars, Signal & Image Processing, Telecommunication & Wireless Systems, and Terahertz (T-Ray) Imaging.
Research areas are: Power Electronics and Electrical Machines, and Power Systems.
